As a young girl, my motto was, “I want to make something!” That same desire is still present, along with nature as my inspiration. I’d gather willow wisps to make a basket, flowers to make perfume and shiny rocks, just because. I was my own best customer, sharing with family and friends brought me joy.

 

After a satisfying career in business I continue to create. Whether its gardening, interior decorating, painting faux bois, marble and even an abstract painting that I still love. My appreciation for art has inspired me to collect perfume bottles (another childhood favorite) from around the world and across the centuries.

 

A decade or so ago, I learned to string beaded jewelry, I’d make one for myself, one for a friend and one for charity. Then I’d start that cycle again.

 

Nature is still a huge inspiration for me, actually, it's my church! Today, I’m fascinated with gemstones! When COVID-19 hit, I needed to do more with my time. I decided to take the Gemological Institute of America, (GIA) Applied Jewelry Professional Certificate course. l loved the courses, Colored Gemstones, Diamonds and more. Like the rocks I collected in the woods as a young girl, it makes even more sense, as nature provides so much beauty from the below the ground up to the stars!
